Well, lovelies... several things have happened in the past 2 months:
- I finished up my second show at the Pole of Totems Playhouse - loads of fun!
- Celebrated my 29th Birthday in 80's awesome style with loads of good friends at the bowling alley in Totem Pole, PA. And the Tall Englishman and my awesome friend Linds-a-lou were both there... I loved it!
- Moved in with the Tall Englishman in Battery Park City - it's domestic bliss! I love LOVE it!
- Have gone to a handful of auditions - and felt pretty good about 80% of them!
- Went to a Gender Bender musical theatre class - where you sing a song that's usually sung by the opposite sex in a musical! It was AWESOME - I sang "Lost in the Wilderness" from Children of Eden. And if I do say so myself - I ROCKED IT OUT!
- Scheduled LOADS of appointments when the Tall Englishman and I are home in Cake Eater, MN. Mainly of the wedding variety. Cake tastings, catering tastings, venue viewing, and most importantly - we are going to the Minnesota State Fair!!! (YUM - insert salivating Homer Simpson noise here...)
- Saw 3 Shows: Promises Promises (fun & plucky!), Addams Family (dark and funny), and the brilliant play "On the Levee" about the floods of 1927 in Grenville, Mississippi.
It was moving and historically accurate - and overall one of the best plays I've ever seen.
OH- then there was ENGLAND! That's a whole other blog post...
And last but not least... we got a dog! Lovelies, meet Crumpet, the Puggle!

FINALLY!!! A new Blog post from Miss Musical!
Oh, lovelies! Has it really been a whole month since I've last blogged!?!?! I've missed you!
Let's call this whole thing a Christmas card from Miss Musical to you lovelies out there who read my little bloggy blog. An update of sorts over the past month!

Well, well - the show closed on Sunday, and it was a bittersweet closing show. Tons of my family members were there, and several friends came as well! For all those of you who turned out for "Sisters of Swing" over the past four weeks, I cannot even begin to tell you how much your support (and applause) has meant to me.
I was truly humbled to get to work with the greatest "Sisters" a girl could ask for: P.N. and Stace-a-frass. Both are so uber talented, kind, generous and warm... The list could go on & on... And I'm also lucky to have worked with a great 6 piece swing band, a wonderful crew and a great professional creative team!
When I first came back from NYC for the rehearsals I was a very angry gal with a lot of confusion, especially in the theatre world. I didn't know if that's where I fit anymore, and if this would be my "swan song" last show ever. Well, after a fabulous opening night, excellent reviews, and a great run my faith has been restored in myself as well as the universe's plan for me!
Even though I may have not been in a show for four long years, it does not mean that I'm untalented and useless. On the contrary, I've come to the conclusion that I am right for a great many things, but I've been so busy focusing on the jobs I didn't get that I forgot to look to the future. There's loads of "what-if's" that await me! (Aka. What if I get a Broadway show the week I move back? or What if I land a national commercial? or What if I have two agents fight to have the privilege of representing me?)

I feel hopeful again. And hope is something I haven't felt in quite some time, especially in the theatre realm.
So here's to life experiences that are therapeutic and thought provoking! May you all have a truly wonderful holiday season!

Shows & Auditions!
Lovelies! Had a GREAT day today! My scene study class was A-freakin-Mazing! I did the "Three Bedroom House" scene from Bat Boy with my supa-cool friend Blarizy! Went amazingly well & I felt like we found out some good new material!

Also, today after class I saw Blithe Spirit with Angela Lansbury! She was so funny! (Her dancing took the cake!) And Rupert Everett was enjoyable. But by far the best character in the show was the side character of the maid! A gal who was making her Broadway debut was playing her and the choices & character development she had was just wonderful! Me Gusta some Noel Coward funny plays!

Tomorrow I'm going to schlep my cookies to Telsey to audition (again) for Legally Blonde national tour. Cross the fingers, lovelies - I might just make it after all! :)

Suck it up! (and Get the Gimmies)

This shouldn't be a problem - I'm a professional, right? I have loads of training under my belt and I'm a smart girl! So I tried my best to "be a human" but when I sang my second song the casting director stopped me half way through and said "You're doing it again!!". I just wish I knew how to stop - I guess what I consider to be "focus" he thinks is just staring for the sake of staring. Uugh. I can't win.... But next week we have a lovely lady casting director from Telsey coming to see our auditions!

Onto other things -I got a FANTASTIC shirt yesterday at Arden B. (which was totally out of my budget, but hey -I'm only young once and I won't be able to pull this type of shirt off in another 15 years -so I best be enjoying it now!) So I wore it to my Wicked Chorus call audition this morning and it got a TON of compliments! Hooray! I love a cute shirt! :) ... And I feel really sexy & powerful in it! (Now if only a boy would ask me out so I could be fierce & wear it on a date!)
Speaking of boys - I'm still totally smitten by the boy in my Musical Theatre Class... Dreamy Kindness Boy... He's so hot. And nice... Lovelies, if he makes a move I'm done for! :)
Now onto a few Gimmie items - these are things that I want, that I think I need, which I probably don't really need all that much...
First is this lovely little number - I LOVE the color! (oh and these are all from NY & Co., so it's not mucho expensive - but still a little expensive!)

This next one is GREAT - I like it without the belt - but it's SO pretty when you try it on. Plus I can bleach it if it gets dirty! (and it's kinda short with out being whore-y... Mmeeoww!)
Finally - this super cute pair of shorts.... SO cute, no? And not tacky short - made for girls with normal thighs! Love it!

I'm still working on getting myself out of debt, so these might have to be put on hold. Unless my fairy god mother is out there in Cyber land & wants to purchase for me?? (Hey -it's worth the ask!)

Mamma Mia! Here I go... well, not quite again...

Lovelies! Yesterday I got a phone call from the casting office that works on Mamma Mia!
(Don't get too excited... I wasn't asked for a callback or audition) BUT I was asked to be a reader!
Clappity - clap - clap!!!

FYI - the reader is someone who the casting office brings in to read sides with the people auditioning... and I was that girl for this call! They were auditioning for the lead young male understudies in Mamma Mia - so I got to read the young female part. (which I have never considered myself to be that kind of part - so that was exciting to get to read for it!)
The fellas that came in for the reading were all so sweet and talented! (and HOT! -- I got a little icky in my yuckies.... so to speak...)
Was really fun to hear what goes on after they leave the room - you could really tell this group of people knew what they wanted - made me feel good about when I go and audition! I am doing nothing wrong -just am not a correct "type" for a show or perhaps not the vocal sound or styling that they're looking for!
I'm just so pleased that I got to be a part of the whole thing- and while I wasn't perfect, I felt pretty darn good about it! And I had fun - which is the most important thing! (but really - how can you not have fun when you get to have hot men singing & touching you!?!)
At times it felt like the picture below... Hot.... I love my job!

Ain't life Good on Good Friday!

Lovelies, pardon my non-blogginess in the past few days. I actually have been less busy than usual, but more tired.... Weird.
Last night I went out with my buddy British Fellow to see "The Year My Parents Went on Vacation" at the Paris theatre. Was a LOVELY movie! Very deep, but also very charming! I enjoyed the monochromatic nature of the film and thought it evoked the prefect feeling for seeing change & turmoil through a young persons eyes.

Then we went to the Russian Tea Room after for a quick cocktail! Was super fun - I'd never been there before & I guess it's a NYC landmark! The had a great cocktail that had Vanilla Stoli and also Creme de Cacao. Was quite yummy!

Today I have an audition for My Fair Lady and then I'm going to go & work at the Pan Asian Palace and then hopefully see a Broadway show! I'm hoping to go to either In the Heights or to South Pacific! We'll see!
